When Wollongong-based graphic designer Kat Turner grew tired of the loneliness of freelancing, she knew she had the answer.
“I love working for myself, but I missed bouncing ideas off other people and the socialisation a working space provided,” she says. “I wanted it, it didn’t exist, so I created it.”
The result is Good Lucky House, a hidden co-working space tucked just off Crown Street Mall, down Court Lane behind the police station. It’s not a typical office. Turner has curated a bright, good-natured environment with personality baked in.“It’s not sterile like an office space,” she says - and because of that, it’s become a gathering place for local creatives, freelancers and entrepreneurs.
