Bellambi.
Its future has been up for debate for what feels like decades. Perfectly placed between the ocean and the escarpment - a suburb with deep cultural roots, natural beauty, and strong community ties.

But also a place long marked by neglect: ageing Housing NSW stock in need of urgent repair, and crime rates that sit well above the state average.

Now, real change may finally be on the horizon. The NSW Government has released its draft Bellambi People and Place Plan, and the first round of community consultation has begun.

Clockwise: Social housing at Bellambi overlooking the ocean, SteveVaughan , Ian Young and Sharon Tarrington (far left).

It’s the opening step in what’s being described as one of the region’s most ambitious neighbourhood renewal projects in decades.
