In just four years, RoboFit has grown from a single clinic in Wollongong to a network of high-tech rehabilitation centres with locations in Sydney and Brisbane - and expansion to Melbourne also in sight.
The growth has been so significant that co-founder Maryanne Harris is now dreaming even bigger and wants to add inclusive, accessible accommodation to the mix.
“Wollongong wants to be a city of innovation - so this is something that’s entirely possible,” says Harris, who co-founded RoboFit with her partner Daniel Hillyer. The couple launched the North Wollongong clinic in 2021, but had its genesis more than a decade earlier. After a serious accident in 2010, Hillyer was left an incomplete quadriplegic. “He was told he’d never move from the neck down again,” says Harris. But neither was ready to accept that.
