UOW to hire fundraising executives as it targets growth in philanthropic income beyond $6.6m
The hires come as the university prepares to welcome new Vice-Chancellor Professor Max Lu and follows a year marked by financial pressure and proposed job cuts.
The University of Wollongong is moving ahead with plans to significantly boost its philanthropic income beyond the $6.6 million raised last year - and is recruiting three senior staff to help lead the charge.
The three hires for a Senior Manager, Advancement Services, Senior Manager, Philanthropy and Impact Specialist and Specialist, Philanthropy and Impact, come as UOW prepares to welcome its new Vice-Chancellor, Professor Max Lu, following a year of turmoil and cuts.
The roles will help drive fundraising in areas such as student scholarships, Indigenous medical support, and research in fields including motor neurone disease, pancreatic cancer, and Strep A.
Norman Bradshaw, UOW’s Director of Advancement, said the goal is to “ramp up” philanthropic support over the coming years.
