Wollongong's Sicona secures $15m investment, licensing deal
From the Illawarra to India; Sicona inks mega-contract to accelerate scaling of next-gen battery technology

Wollongong-based battery materials innovator, has announced a multi-million dollar partnership with an Indian chemical giant.
The deal with Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd includes a $15 million investment and technology licensing agreement for its silicon carbon anode material.
"This deal is transformative for Sicona," CEO and co-founder Christiaan Jordaan said. "This partnership enables us to commercialise SiCx® at an unprecedented speed and scale, without shouldering the burden of the first-of-a-kind facility funding alone."
