Wollongong MP Paul Scully lauded one of the city's newest housing developments when he gave the opening address at the Committee for Economic Development of Australia's 2025 Human Cities Summit.
The NSW Planning Minister referenced The Housing Trust, Traders In Purple and Homes NSW mixed tenure project as prime example of how social, affordable, and market-rate housing can be combined under one roof when he opened the 2025 at Allianz Stadium on Friday.
From smarter zoning and faster approvals to cutting-edge design templates and BASIX sustainability upgrades, the state's planning overhaul has momentum, he told a bevy of industry and civic leaders. Macroeconomic conditions might remain challenging, but Mr Scully emphasised that improved development approvals, housing starts and completions are clear signs that change is underway — and Wollongong is firmly in the frame for growth.
